Description
Summerville, SC
A unique aspect of these townhomes was the use of a “bird cage” sprinkler system configuration, designed to provide reliable fire protection while addressing freeze protection concerns on the upper level. The system utilized CPVC piping to supply sidewall sprinklers on the top floor, minimizing exposure to cold temperatures and reducing the risk of freezing. This approach allowed the fire protection system to be effectively integrated within the building’s architectural design while maintaining code-compliant coverage and long-term system reliability.
