Malcolm Station is a 9-story apartment building that is designed per 2018 IBC, 2020 MN State Building Code, NFPA 13 (2016 ed.) & NFPA 14 (2016 ed.). There are 7 levels of apartments above grade and 2 levels of parking garage below grade. Class I Manual Wet standpipes are in each stairwell with one serving as a combined standpipe with zone control assemblies on main floor landings for each floor. Parking garage and common areas are a wet pipe system with black steel sprinkler piping. The residential levels are fed by a wet pipe system using CPVC with a “birdcage” design on the top two levels.
