This project presented several unique design challenges due to the building’s construction. The lower level featured exposed wood joists, while the upper floor incorporated a ceiling installed tight to the structure above. These conditions limited concealed piping options, requiring the fire sprinkler piping to remain exposed throughout the residential units. Careful coordination was necessary to integrate the exposed system while maintaining code compliance and preserving the architectural intent of the space.
