South Green Flats Building B

Description

Carrboro, NC

This four-story apartment building features a combination of wet and dry fire sprinkler systems tailored to the building’s unique design. A portion of the second floor extends over a first-floor parking area, requiring a dedicated dry system to protect the exposed space below. The remainder of the building is protected by a wet system utilizing floor control assemblies connected to the standpipe. A unique challenge involved routing the standpipe up to the second floor, across the building, and back down to supply the stairwell located within the dry-system area. In addition, several isolated attic spaces were protected with attic sprinklers fed from the fourth-floor system.
