Driven Delivery Method
Our Proven Process: A structured, four-phase approach built for fire protection contractors — from bid intake through field support. We handle the engineering so you can handle the trade.

Phase 01
Project Discovery & Alignment
We evaluate scope, quantities, complexity, and timelines to establish solid alignment before starting layout blueprints.
/ Step 01
Bid Intake & Initial Assessment
Client submits bid package (PDFs, preliminary layouts, marked-up plans, scope notes, specifications, design budgets, timelines & BIM expectations). Packages may be incomplete — this is expected. High-level review identifies project size and system type(s), complexity and AHJ considerations, timelines and program requirements.
/ Step 02
Driven Scope Review
Driven team independently evaluates scope, quantities, and approach. Discrepancies between scope information provided and Driven Scope evaluation are identified. Design effort is defined and priced based on complexity, schedule, and deliverables.
/ Step 03
Pricing Alignment & Authorization
Scope assumptions, budget, and timeline are aligned with the client. Client confirms intent to proceed and awards the project.
Phase 02
Onboarding & Project Triangulation
Our team prepares CAD and model backgrounds, sets up administrative frameworks, and aligns expectations to guarantee seamless onboarding.
/ Step 04
Administrative Onboarding
For new clients, Driven onboarding forms are filled out to properly onboard clients and allow clients to add Driven as a vendor. Align project billing terms and SOV as required.
/ Step 05
Project Setup & Design Readiness
Project entered into internal systems and assigned to production queue. File setup and preparation: required files audited and collected (CADs, backgrounds, flow tests, site plans), CAD/model backgrounds cleaned and standardized, client templates, title blocks, and standards applied. Designer and/or design team formally assigned.
/ Step 06
Strategy Triangulation (Kickoff)
Kickoff meeting with client, Driven sales, and design teams. Seamless handoff to the lead designer with clear communication channels and sharing of project contact information. Alignment on overall design intent. Focus on validating direction, expectations and timelines.
Phase 03
Design Execution
Highly precise detailing, preliminary lock-ins, detailed hydraulic and seismic calculation, and a multi-step quality control protocol.
/ Step 07
Preliminary Design & Direction Lock-In
Designers develop preliminary layout focused on system approach and routing strategy, major components (zones, mains, standpipes, riser and fire pump configurations). Preliminary plans reviewed with client; feedback incorporated. Design direction formally locked to prevent late-stage redesign.
/ Step 08
Detailed Design & Engineering
Full detailing completed: working plans and material data for submittal, hydraulic and seismic calculations, bracing, hanger, and constructability solutions. Internal 3-step quality control process: self-check (designer), Account Manager review, internal third-party QC. Ensures code compliance, accuracy, and constructability.
/ Step 09
Submittal Assembly & Design Delivery
Complete submittal package assembled: drawings, calculations, supporting documentation. Final design delivered and ready for final client approvals and AHJ submission.
Phase 04
Post-Submittal Support
Beyond drawings, we handle AHJ review feedback, coordinate fabrication variables, and offer rapid-response field troubleshooting.
/ Step 10
Review & Revision
AHJ, insurance, and client QA/QC comments addressed. Revisions and ASIs addressed as needed. Ongoing support beyond initial submittal.
/ Step 11
Fabrication
Fabrication Triangulation meeting prior to listings. Material usage confirmation. Determine installation sequencing and fabrication preferences by area.
/ Step 12
Field Support & Close Outs
Rapid response to fabrication, field and design questions. Final documentation reflecting installed conditions on as-built documents. After Action Review conducted upon project completion to continuously refine and improve the process.
